Acura MufflerDuring the combustion process of your Acura engine, massive exhaust gases are produced. These gases are channeled out of the engine via the exhaust system. They are discharged out of the engine so that it will continue to burn fuel efficiently and for it to run smoothly. The exhaust system allows the exhaust gases to escape quickly out of the system in order to prevent backpressure. These gases are routed to various exhaust pipes and out through the Acura muffler. This muffler is located along the exhaust pipe and it performs the job of reducing the exhaust sound via resonating chambers. These chambers are precision tuned to cause a destructive interference, where opposing sound waves will cancel each other out and thus, minimizing the production of disturbing exhaust noise.
Acura mufflers are designed to reduce the backpressure. Backpressure occurs when exhaust gases are not discharged out immediately from the system. This causes the exhaust gases to return back to the engine, choking it and causing it to break down. The Acura muffler is usually made from stainless steel and includes an array of baffles and other sound-insulating materials that will reduce exhaust noise. This is also capable of changing your engine’s exhaust sound and tone, making it a bit aggressive, subtle or mellow. This muffler will not impair engine performance. However, they must be well maintained so as to benefit from their peak performances.
